Prince Harry & Meghan Markle will be tying the knot at Windsor Castle in the next couple of days. A Royal Wedding always rallies the nation and none more so than these patriotic, North East knitters.
The Royal Wedding party has been knitted in FULL and is on display at Nunthorpe Station. For those of you who don’t know, Nunthorpe is a pretty suburb of Middlesbrough close to the border of North Yorkshire. The railway station is on the Esk Valley Line so travellers to and from Whitby are getting this glorious view from their train windows.
Lots of locals and press have visited over the past week or so since the yarn bombers went live with their latest creation, even a tv crew from as far away as Canada we are reliably informed.
If you look closely you might spot a corgi or two AND Elton John!
The team of 40 knitters have been working on the wedding since January and even if you aren’t into Royal Weddings you can’t help but be impressed by the care and dedication that has gone into creating this stunning Buckingham Palace balcony scene.
As Nunthorpe is close to where we live we went up there a day or so ago and took some photos to share ourselves. We think you’ll agree they are cuteness personified.
Check out the Nunthorpe & Marton Knitters Facebook page for more information and how you can get involved with their knitting and craft community.
